Long ago Pirates roamed its sandy shores.  Later, excellent sport fishing, mild climate and natural beauty attracted and delighted distinguished visitors.  Winter residences established by renowned early inhabitants continue to add romance to Boca Grande and the Placida corridor; however, they compromise only a small part of what this “Old Florida” destination represents.

Boca Grande and the Placida area maintain a small town community charm which has appealed to people from all walks of life.  Exceptional restaurants, interesting and diverse shops, art galleries, four marinas and a seasoned group of fishing guides compliment our small business community.  Our outdoor activities are plenty including; terrific inshore and offshore fishing, close boating proximity to charming locations such as Cabbage Key and Usseppa and access to numerous first class golf courses. 

Diligent conservation groups maintain the environmental integrity of our community from the blue-green Gulf of Mexico to pristine Charlotte Harbor. No high rises or traffic lights exist and our population is diverse but joined by the common thread of love of privacy and serenity.
